Five Stunning European Lake Side Hotels
Europe is home to a stunning collection of lakes and where there are lakes, there are often stunning hotels. People are naturally, for whatever reason drawn to lakes and in the last decade or so there has been a significant increase in the number of people wanting to take holidays on or near lakes.
As a result of demand lakes have become huge hubs of activity with many restaurants, hotels and shops opening around them. The range of tourist activities has also increased significantly in these areas and there are few better places to relax. Of course some countries are more geared towards these than others but the range of available hotels never fails to impress. Today we wanted to share some of our recommendations for the best hotels in Europe.
Albergo San Rocco, Italy

The Lakeside Hotel as its name suggests is right on the waterfrontand was named hotel of the year in 2012. It also has its own spa and prices are very reasonable.
Abbaye de Talloires, France
At the feet of the Alps and on the shorelines of one of France’s purest Lakes the Abbaye de Talloires has become one of France’s best hotels. If traditional style and great quality service and facilities are your thing then this is the hotel for you. The hotel and lake host’s great events all year round and local attractions are all accessible via the good public transport links.
A short holiday to the lakes can be a great alternative to a city break and like cities they look great all year round. There is always plenty to do and as mentioned earlier we would highly recommend Switzerland, though we are slightly biased.
