They are closed during the winter, so be sure to check out their calendar to coordinate your stay with their open dates and with the events that draw so many folks to the city. The Missing Sock –

A certificated location for camping, registered with the Caravan Club. This site is very small, with only 5 pitches for caravan, motorhome or trailer-tent pitching and only available to Caravan Club members. It is a quirky, individual social enterprise restaurant and bar in close proximity to the beautiful city of Cambridge.

For a cycling route into the city, take the National Cycle Network route number 51 for a steady and relaxing 30 min cycle right into the centre of Cambridge. If you are staying with children and are wondering what there is on site for entertainment, never fear, the Missing Sock has an enclosed children’s play area with lovely gardens where there are domestic and farmyard animals to be enjoyed!

Bour Golf and Country Club – This site has recently had a new shower and toilet block added along with electrics, has Caravan storage facilities, and stresses that it is a lovely quiet setting for couples and families alike, located within the grounds of this country club lies 2 camping fields – one with electric hook ups and hard standing pitches. Only 8 miles away from the heart of Cambridge, this site is ideal for anyone who hopes to include luxury and a bit of golf along with a visit to the great city.

Enjoy a round of 9 or 18 hole golf, the 9 hole pitch and putt – or for those who prefer something a little more pampered, why not visit the club’s beauty and wellbeing spa? The indoor pool, sauna, steam room and aerobics classes are all available to you. For gorgeous coffee, cakes, drinks and food campers are also welcome to enjoy the clubhouse. A touch of luxury on a budget – what could be better?

St Neots Camping and Caravanning Club – Set in the neighbouring town of St Neots next to the riverside, just 6 miles out of Cambridge and only a 5 minute walk into the heart of the town. This Campsite has had numerous high ratings and reviews from people who have stayed there and take motorhomes, caravans and tents alike. There are 180 pitches with electrical hook-ups and some hard-standing.

For trips to Cambridge, the route is easy by car, following the main road the entire way, for those who have no car or want to avoid parking, there is a bus from town that is both quick and pleasant. If you want to spend some time near the campsite, the riverside park is opposite and fishing is available on site.

Hardwick Road, St Neots, Cambridge PE19 2PR

Cambridge Camping and Caravanning Site – This site has very easy accessibility to the centre of Cambridge via the Park and Ride, for those without a car there is a bus stop directly opposite the site. There are 120 pitches and brightly colourful flowerbeds. The staff here receive rave reviews and will endeavour to make your stay as pleasant as possible. On site there is a shop, but if you fancy a hearty meal out, campers get a 10% discount at the Square and Compass pub, only a mile walk into town.

19 Cabbage Moor, Great Shelford, Cambridge CB22 5NB

Cambridge Cherry Hinton Caravan Club – Set in an old quarry and with a peaceful, rural country setting, and only a half mile out of Cambridge. This site is the closest to the city centre, with 76 pitches set in 5.5 acres of land.

For the athletic among us, there is a National Cycle route into Cambridge that runs alongside the campsite, number 11 from Saffron Walden – Cambridge. For those who prefer a bus, the nearest stop is a short 5 minute walk away. The nearest supermarket is 1.5 miles away in the next village.
